The island metropolis

Palma de Mallorca the enchanting, lively island metropolis attracts with great restaurants, many pretty boutiques, a beautiful old town, gorgeous beaches and a fine flair.

The centrally located Plaza Mayor is the hub of Palma's social and cultural life. Here, amidst bars, restaurants, stores and street performers, is the perfect starting point for exploring the Casco Antiguo, Palma de Mallorca's old town.

Called La Seu by the locals, the Cathedral of Saint Mary of Palma sits enthroned in the south of the old town, just a walk from the port. It was built in the 13th century in Gothic style and is located on the Bay of Palma. Next to it is the Almudaina Palace, a former Moorish fortress that now serves the royal couple on official occasions. 

The Santa Catalina district lies to the west of the old town, separated only by the Parc de la Feixina. This area is dominated by a lively nightlife. This bohemian neighborhood has become a real Palma favorite. Among many great little restaurants, Nola is highly recommended. The Mercat de Santa Catalina is a must-visit to experience authentic Palma de Mallorca.

Life in Palma

In Palma you will find everything you are used to as a spoiled European or US-citizen coupled with the charm of the Mediterranean. The airport is only a few minutes away, as it is a city airport. With the ferry you can also reach Ibiza and Barcelona in a very short time. The well developed infrastructure, starting from Palma, allows short travel times to the most beautiful corners of Mallorca. The supply situation is excellent and leaves nothing to be desired, the cost of living is below the Central European average. The temperatures are also above average in winter with 15-20 degrees.

Real estates in Palma

As on the whole island, real estate prices in Palma are rising steadily and there is no end in sight. On the contrary, the unstable situation worldwide is contributing to the fact that more and more Europeans, recently also Americans and other non-EU nationals are buying real estate in Mallorca and Palma.

Palma and the surrounding area is rated as a "good location" according to sales statistics of recent years. Prices for condominiums range from EUR 4.200 to 8.500 /m2, for houses and villas from 950.000 to 5 Mio EUR.
